A taste of the Dominican Republic on Webster Avenue
El sabor de República Dominicana en Webster Avenue
Cafeteria Serie 54 brings the flavors of home to the Bronx. Customers say walking in feels like being transported straight to the DR — the shelves are stocked with products imported from the island, and the kitchen serves Dominican favorites from early morning to late night, seven days a week.
"They lost a good customer. I say “good” because either my wife or I spend around $200 to $300 here every single week. It’s very disappointing that when you go to spend your money, you’re treated with a bad attitude. I understand the place can be stressful, but that’s not an excuse to treat customers poorly. The food is excellent, no complaints there. However, the morning shift — especially one white girl (I believe her name is Jenn , but I’ll leave it out) — has such a bad attitude that it made me stop going completely. If you want to try this place, I recommend going during the night shift. The service is much better then."
"Walking into Bodega Calle Series 54 instantly transported me back to my hometown of Moca in the Dominican Republic. Every product on the shelves is imported straight from the DR, and the atmosphere has that warm, familiar vibe that made me feel right at home. One of the highlights is the small cafeteria tucked inside the store—serving the same delicious food I enjoy whenever I visit my beautiful hometown. I had a perfectly made ham & cheese tostada, and to top it off, I treated myself to a refreshing helado BON—an absolute classic! While the waiting area for food is a bit tight, and service could be better, it can get crowded, it’s totally worth it for the authentic flavors and experience. Finding this hidden gem in the heart of the Bronx was such a beautiful surprise. I’ll definitely be coming back again!"
"I bought a yaroa It was a very small portion for $10.89. I try to get my change back she said no we’re gonna leave it like that. I’m like what this is not Dominican Republic where you keep people change and try to pay them back with mint there’s no parking You stand the risk of getting a bus lane ticket and then all the products in there are overpriced like cheese de geo $24 come on this is not the airport not even there so expensive it’s only $20 because of this experience I would not recommend anybody to go back there and spend their money do not support this business"
"Either $4 or a trip to DR you choose. Im getting DR medicine without catching flights. Well worth it. Tell mom she can save her suitcase. space for those dulces"
"02/24/26, I went to Cafeteria Serie 54 with my brother. I waited for him in the car while he bought two small bag of cookies that cost $7 each. When he came back to the car and told me, I just laughed. Today, I went to the supermarket and bought the same bags of cookies for $3 each." Nos dienron hasta donde dice cirilo"
